I am currently a First Officer on the 737 based in Toronto. I was drawn into the dynamic world of union work in 2010 while I was working at First Air. I became one of the local status representatives in Yellowknife, then became the Vice-Chair of the MEC and Negotiations Committee member for a few years before transitioning to MEC Chair for the remainder of my time as a First Air pilot. Shortly after beginning my career at Air Canada I started volunteering for our External Affairs Committee as a member and then became the Chair of the Committee while also a YYZ LEC Councillor. Most recently I was acclaimed as the YYZ Vice-Chair and then appointed Acting MEC Chair of our Association.

My passion for flying started with a familiarization flight in a glider with Air Cadets in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Soon after, I began the Air Cadet program and received my glider and private pilot license. I then pursued an Aviation Diploma in Saskatoon, while completing my commercial pilot license.  I returned to Yorkton and spent a couple of years instructing before I moved to Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan to continue my career with Courtesy Air, flying the navajo, baron, king air and beech 99. From there, I moved further north to Yellowknife where I started work with First Air. I spent a decade there flying the ATR 42, 737-200 and lastly the 737-400. I was hired by Air Canada in 2018 as a Relief Pilot on the Boeing 777, where I was fortunate to fly with amazing people and travel around the world even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, when we started flying cargo. I recently transitioned to First Officer based out of YYZ, where I have really enjoyed flying the 737 yet once again.

I volunteer for ACPA because unions matter – especially in our professional pilot world. This slow drift to the bottom must stop. We have a duty to leave this profession better than we found it.
