In the news: ACPA supports CF-TCC donation in Winnipeg

In Winnipeg yesterday, the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada received into its collection CF-TCC – a Lockheed Electra L10A – one of the original three Lockheed aircraft that Trans Canada Airlines purchased in 1937.

ACPA’s CEO, Rob Giguere, took part in the handover, representing pilots past, present and future. Not only a long-time member of the Museum and pilot advocate for TCC, he is also the son of one of the original cohort of Trans-Canada Airlines pilots who flew the these aircraft in the early years with TCA.

In his remarks, Mr. Giguere highlighted the contribution pilots and other aviation pioneers made to building airline aviation in Canada, and how that contribution continues.

Also in attendance were Winnipeg LEC Chair Captain Rob Weiser and about a dozen active Winnipeg-based pilots.

Accompanied by retired Captain Gerry Norberg and several other TCC pilots and mechanics, the aircraft was taxied to the museum from the Air Canada Hangar for a ceremony this morning.
