Air Canada Pilots Cancel Vote on Tentative Agreement

TORONTO - The Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) today announced that it has cancelled the ratification vote on its tentative agreement with Air Canada. The vote had been scheduled to begin today.

ACPA's governing Master Executive Council (MEC) will meet next week to consider alternatives.

In a series of membership meetings held this week, ACPA's negotiating team met with pilots across Canada to explain the contents of the tentative agreement. Some parts of the proposed agreement proved controversial among the pilots, leading the MEC to reconsider the vote.

The Air Canada Pilots Association is the largest professional pilot group in Canada, representing the more than 3,000 pilots who operate Air Canada's mainline fleet.
