International Winter Operations Conference Brings Global AviationExperts to Vancouver

Vancouver – Some of the world’s leading aviation experts will present the latest advances in safety at thethird International Winter Operations Conference, to be held October 9-10 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

 

Under the theme “Safety Is No Secret”, industry experts in all aspects of winter operations will share thelatest technological advances and best practices from around the world, says Captain Barry Wiszniowski, Chairof the Air Canada Pilots Association’s Flight Safety Division.  “If you want to be on the cutting edgeof aviation safety, you must hear the lessons these industry leaders have learned in their fields ofexpertise,” Captain Wiszniowski said.

 

Keynote speaker at the conference will be David McMillan, Chair of the Flight Safety Foundation, which isan international non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide impartial, independent, expertsafety guidance and resources for the aviation and aerospace industry. Mr. McMillan, a former DirectorGeneral of both Eurocontrol and Civil Aviation in the United Kingdom, kicks off the conference Wednesdaymorning with an address on global trends and emerging threats to aviation safety.

 

Local speakers include Heather McCarley, Manager Airside Operations, Vancouver Airport Authority.

 

Delegates will attend from Asia, Europe, Central and South America, as well as Canada and the UnitedStates.
